Lithuanian Theater Center
We didn’t slap together a directory. We engineered a central nerve center for Lithuanian theatre that pulses with real-time news, events, and projects — keeping the scene alive and connected.
Outdated sites collect dust. We built a custom WordPress hub from original design, with a solid CMS backbone for regular updates, so the Lithuanian Theatre Information Centre could broadcast the pulse of contemporary performing arts without friction.
The Real Story The Lithuanian Theatre Centre (LTC) is the beating heart for promoting Lithuanian performing arts — both at home and abroad. It shares news on festivals (Sirenos, SMKA awards), international programs (FOCUS LITUANIE in Paris), open calls, webinars, think tanks (PERFORMING ARTS THINK TANK BALTIC CURRENT), and spotlights on directors, intellectual theatre, and Baltic circus.
What We Delivered
- Original custom WordPress theme based on provided design — responsive, modern HTML/CSS foundation that looks sharp and loads fast
- Robust CMS setup: custom post types, fields, and templates optimized for regular blog-style entries (news articles, event announcements, project open calls) — editors add dated posts with categories (Events, News, Projects), images, embeds, and rich text effortlessly
- Clean multilingual support (English primary via /en/, Lithuanian core) — content structured for international visibility
- SEO and performance tweaks: better indexing for theatre keywords, quick loads to keep visitors (researchers, programmers, international curators) engaged
- Everything coded clean: theme development from scratch, PHP for CMS logic, JS for interactive feed elements (pagination, category filters), no unnecessary plugins dragging it down.
The Punk Part
While most cultural hubs are static brochures or buried in outdated news, we made this one live and breathing — a real-time feed that actually gets updated, not abandoned after launch. No “last updated 2019” vibes. No begging editors to learn code. We didn’t follow the lazy “use Elementor and call it custom” route. We built tools that serve the mission: amplify Lithuanian theatre without compromise or excuses.

Result
A digital headquarters that feels current and authoritative — not a forgotten archive. Staff posts fresh content regularly (events as recent as 2024/2025 in records), international audiences discover Lithuanian theatre easily, and the site supports real growth in collaborations and visibility. Proof: when a cultural organization needs to stay relevant and vocal, you don’t patch an old template — you build a platform that lets them shout without limits.
